This was a 'chance meeting,' some would say, but I do not as easily make such an assumption, anymore. I had not planned to be there. I had been out all morning and into the afternoon, and was glad to be home and preparing for quiet time in the mid-afternoon. But my phone stopped working. I found a store to drive to, and went to have it checked on. Thankfully, the dear lady there, kind likewise, found a solution and did not charge me anything. She and another worker and I shared a while, enjoying laughter and goodwill together.
When I discovered the phone was not working, I was not gladdened to go back out, and to a nearby town, as the town I live near did not have the store I needed for the type of phone I had. I, nevertheless, simply accepted the trip as the gift of being-in-the moment.

So, 'chance meeting' or 'providential meeting,' after leaving the coffee shop, I felt joyfully blessed. Reflections arose about the reason of this subtle, quiet gratitude and bliss. Here was a dear one who was luminous, whom I had no intent on ever meeting in this world. We all know what it is like, likely, to be treated as a customer. I sensed, however, this apparent stranger related with me, not to me, so, I was not treated as merely a customer, but a valued other. Beyond this, the dear lady was luminous with what I call Love, Joy, Beauty. Some might say she was a spiritual being. The Tibetan Buddhist speak of this Luminosity. Early Christians depicted holy beings with hallos of Light to image this Glory.

What is true, spirit witnesses with spirit. That formless in one spontaneously knows the formless in another form. That is, when a person is luminous with Grace, a person luminous with Grace discerns that. Grace recognizes Grace, Grace is attracted to Grace, for drawn to meet Itself. A meeting occurs, a communion arises of subject with subject, and it leaves a perfume of Kindness. Kindness, here, not meaning merely an emotional matter, but a deeper expression of the benevolence and incandescence of Love.

While we are all one absolutely, we are not all one practically. I mean, we have homo sapiens from living from a bodily, animalic, instinctual expression of Life to those living from the grace of pure Grace. Grace is present at all aspects of the emergence toward the fecund void of Love, where the absence of self is the greatest gift you can give another in sharing together, for you are not what persons most need in such sharing. The Life through the form of 'you' is what the heart longs to share with There appears a paradox, you are most present, when most absent. Then, you are the conduit of Life and an invitation, silent, for the Life in and of the other to share. To say, 'God' meets 'God,' is to say, 'Life' meets 'Life.'

So, I was blessed, ironically, by my phone not working. I am glad it did not. If it had not gone awry, I would not have been showered with the Kindness of a dear being alight with Light. Yes, there are angels everywhere, and with 'halos' unseen to the eye.
